how old do you have to be to stream on twitch

If you want to stream on twitch you have to be at least 13 years old or be under the supervision of a parent or guardian. Please note the following from the Twitch terms of service:

13 years old

"Use of Twitch by Minors and Blocked Persons

The Twitch Services are not available to persons under the age of 13. If you are between the ages of 13 and the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction of residence, you may only use the Twitch Services under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms of Service."

So this is pretty straight forward, only 13+ or with a parent for streaming and using Twitch.

what is twitch tv

What is twitch tv is a question that is being asked all the time it seems even in 2021. Lets go over what twitch tv is in this short guide.

what is twitch tv?

Twitch tv is primarily a live streaming video service that focuses on content related to video games, esports, competitions and other personality based communities. Anyone can sign up to create a account to chat or to stream on the platform. It also offers video on demand from previous streaming sessions from all the various channels.

Twitch Interactive is the company that operates the service which is a subsidiary of Amazon.com INC. It launched on June 6, 2011 and its current CEO is Emmett Shear.

One of the reasons why Twitch is so popular today is due to it being one of the first services to offer live streaming for video game content back in 2011.  They also had a partner program for content creators to make a income from their content generation.  As more big brand gaming companies started using the Twitch service, it become the go to website for checking out new games, tournaments and other events.

Whenever a new video game comes out the general gaming community knows they can watch someone streaming it live on Twitch.  Instead of watching reviews on youtube, they go to Twitch and watch the game live and can ask questions directly to the streamers.  This is what I believe was the beginning of what make Twitch, Twitch.

Now a days Twitch has turned into more of a culture of personalities and niche communities. The door has opened up to many different types of content which you can find by searching on all the various categories setup on the directory.

Twitch is a live streaming platform that allows people to watch and broadcast video game streams, as well as other types of content like creative arts, music, talk shows, and more. Twitch was launched in 2011 and quickly became the leading platform for video game streaming, with millions of active users and thousands of streamers broadcasting at any given time.

At its core, Twitch is a social platform that connects people through shared interests and passions. Streamers can interact with their audiences through live chat, polls, and other features, creating a sense of community and engagement that goes beyond traditional media.

Twitch's popularity has also spawned a new generation of content creators who make a living from streaming and engaging with their audiences. These creators can earn money through various means, including ads, subscriptions, donations, and sponsorships.

In addition to its social and entertainment functions, Twitch has also become a significant force in the gaming industry, with many publishers and developers using the platform to showcase their games and interact with fans. Twitch has also become a platform for esports, with many professional leagues and tournaments broadcasting their matches live on the platform.

To use Twitch, users need to create an account and download the Twitch app or use the web-based platform. From there, they can watch live streams, follow their favorite streamers, and engage with other users through chat and other features. Users can also create their own channels and start streaming their own content, building their own audiences and communities.

Overall, Twitch is a vibrant and dynamic platform that has revolutionized the way people consume and create content online. It has become a major cultural force and a hub of creativity and entertainment, bringing people together from around the world to share their passions and connect with others who share their interests.
