With years of experience, I offer advice on engaging your audience, improving stream quality, mastering platform tools, and navigating the challenges of being a smaller streamer. Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your skills, my content provides actionable strategies to elevate your Twitch journey and build a thriving community.
Can mods delete clips
No, only editors or the channel owner can delete clips made from their streams. If you are a editor you can access the content clip section by going to the following URL:
https://dashboard.twitch.tv/u/daopa/content/clips/channel
Replace daopa with the channel name that you are a editor for and it will show the clips section. From there you can select the clips you want to delete by check marking them and pressing the delete button.
Another way to get to this section is from the mod view. To get to mod view, click on the sword icon at the bottom section in the chat block.
After that go to the channel actions section on the side and expand it.
On this panel you will see the option for creator dashboard. Click on that and you will go to the default section of the dashboard. From there you click on content then clips, then clips of streamer name channel.
Can mods use sub emotes
No, in order for a mod to use sub emotes they will have to subscribe to the channel, or use the temporary unlocks if available from the channel points system.
Can mods timeout other mods
Can twitch mods timeout other mods?
No, only the broadcaster can timeout mods on their channel. If you want to timeout a mod you can do that by clicking on their name in the chat and pressing the timeout button.
You can also use a chat command to timeout anyone in your chat.
Type: /timeout [username] [duration] [reason]
You don't have to post a reason if you don't want to, its just a additional option.

Can mods see a list of who is banned
Sort of via the moderation view, your mods can see all the recent mod actions which includes bans. If you are a mod and don't know how to access the mod view its pretty easy, click on the little sword icon on the bottom section of the chat.
When you are in the mod view, look for the panel called "Mod Actions" and if any recent bans have occurred they will be listed in the section.
Can mods upload emotes
So we have been asked recently if a mod on Twitch for your channel can upload emotes. The answer is no, only the streamer or broadcaster account can do that action.
If you want to upload new emotes for your channel follow these steps!
- Login to your twitch account.
- Go to the creator dashboard
- Find the section called Viewer Rewards and click to expand it.
- Click on the Emotes menu option, then you will see a page for adding in new emotes if you have the slots available.
Getting on the Twitch Frontpage can yield 200k to 500k+ views depending on the time slot!
Lucky for me the channels that had the big viewer numbers listed that they were being featured on the "Twitch Front page".
Here is a look at the video tab for Elite Dangerous, which gives a quick view of total views from past streaming sessions.
Here are some aftermath stats on additional streaming sessions for these two channels with out the front page promotion on twitch.
The first channel appears to have been able to capitalize on the front page promotion which shows in the stats and the second streamer due to not streaming everyday went back to their normal levels. So what exactly does that say? If you get a front page Twitch promotion, make sure to continue to stream the following days in order to maximize the potential for new viewer retention.
One additional screenshot of a channel that received frontpage promtion but wasn't in the Elite Dangerous category.
Just wanted to post another to show it doesnt matter the context or the game, its the placement and time frame that yields the views. You can also see examples of being in the frontpage and not yielding much of anything due to being in certain time slots or behind others in the carousal. Timing makes a huge difference in any adverting promotion.
So I ask myself on how do you get to be on the Twitch front page carousal? After a bit of investigation I found the following steps that some have taken to get their stream in a front page time slot on twitch.
- For special events of charity related content, you can send a email and see if they can schedule a time slot on the front page.
- Email: charity@twitch.tv
- Also some charities that have worked with Twitch before like St Jude
have a sign up section to which may feature you during their special
charity events.
Other then that it appears the front page embed is curated by a special group at Twitch or sold as some advertising package.
- Twitch sells the "Homepage Carousal" spot as a advertising package. You can read about the details on there advertising page listed here: https://twitchadvertising.tv/ad-products/homepage-carousel/
- They also have a "Promoted Bounty" which you can read more about here: https://help.twitch.tv/s/article/promoted-streams?language=en_US
- Not sure if this includes being promoting on the frontpage, but making a note here just in case.
